Despite plea for all to shun violence during this electioneering period, violence has reared its head in Ekpan, Delta State where an Aide to Gov. Ifeanya Okowa of Delta State was murdered in cold blood on Friday by yet to be identified gun men.
Information available to nigerian memo indicates that Mr. Lawrence Ngozi Ijei must have met his untimely death while in his car but there was no clue as to why his body was moved outside of the car and left on the ground.

Mr. Lawrence Ngozi Ijei was a Senior special Adviser to Gov Ifeanyi Okowa until his death. A statement by the Delta State Governor over the death of his Aids reads, “On behalf of Delta State government and people of Delta State, I mourn the death of Mr. Lawrence Ngozi Ijei, who was my Aide until his untimely demise.”

“I condole with his family and I call on the security agencies to dig into the unfortunate incident and apprehend those behind the action.”
Following the death of Lawrence, social media has been awash with a message of caution advising people to be vigilant and stay safe as there probably might be reprisal attacks from Lawrence camp, in the light of this Gov Okowa has called on Deltans to maintain peace and be law abiding.
He said, “We urge Deltans to remain peaceful and maintain the existing peace we have built in the last three and half years”.
Few days ago another Aide of Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa was fingered in the humiliation and dehumanization of a woman forcing the Governor to sack the Aide from his post in the Delta State government.
